Beat the Blue Monday Blues…
IT’S ONLY THE MOST DEPRESSING DAY OF THE YEAR IF YOU LET IT BE.
Is Monday getting to you a little more than usual? You’re not alone. It’s predicted that the third Monday in January is the most depressing day of the year according to a scientific calculation made back in 2005, which was based on average travel times, weather conditions, time spent relaxing, time spent in a state of stress, the list continues…
Putting #BlueMonday aside, we’re sharing our top tips to be rid of any negativity that might be imposing on your new week:
Setting goals for the year
We might be into our third week of January but there is still time to set goals for the year ahead. It’s important to understand where you are now and envisage where you want to be at the end of the year. We recommend physically writing down your goals whether that’s in the note section of your phone or in a spare page of your diary, write down exactly what you want to achieve in 2018 and don’t forget to make it realistic!
Finding a Work-Life Balance
A healthy work-life balance is something a lot of us struggle to find and many of us shy away from the fact we’re not balanced at all. We’re all for the ‘work smart, not long’ approach, having your priorities in place and using your time at work effectively, allowing yourself to step away from work at the end of the day to concentrate on yourself and your life away from work. We hear that spa breaks are a great way to unwind or better yet check out our Stressless Meetings, the perfect solution you just might be looking for.
Choosing a Positive Mindset
It’s not as easy as it sounds, but having a positive mindset really is the key to a happy life and it starts with choosing to think positive. Whether that’s waking up in the morning and physically telling yourself that today will be a great day or choosing to smile at a stranger in the street who appears to be unhappy, the smallest changes you choose to make are all steps in the right direction to creating a positive mindset, give it a go for yourself!
You will get through this very Blue Monday, we promise!
