Wedding Trends to Take Note of in 2020

Real cheese wedding “cakes”, potted plant centrepieces and vegan menus… We’re diving into the top wedding trends for 2020!

Something Blue…
We’ve all heard of the famous saying and now that Pantone have released their 2020 colour of the year, what better way to honour an old tradition. Whether it be your bridesmaid dresses, wedding cake or even your table stationery, a splash of blue is sure to add a touch of elegance to your big day. Our stunning St Albans Suite comes with built in coloured lights that are certain to add that WOW factor to your evening celebrations. Whoever said too much blue was a thing…

Vegan Weddings
Within your guest list you are guaranteed to have a mixture of dietary requirements and allergies. Why not save yourself the hassle of menu choices and opt for a completely vegan menu? Some may be sceptical on the idea of a 3 course vegan meal, but with a team of talented chef’s like ours, there’s no doubt we can change their mind.

Sustainability
With climate change being the forefront of every news outlet, it’s become an important factor to consider when planning a special event such as your wedding. There are so many ways to reduce your carbon footprint and decrease your environmental impact while still delivering something just as fabulous. We’re big fans of using potted plants as your centrepieces; these can be planted in your garden after the wedding or given as gifts to your guests. Additionally, hiring coaches to transport your guests can dramatically cut down on carbon emissions.

Banqueting Tables
When you imagine your wedding you often think of guests sitting on round tables. In 2020 we’re almost expecting to say good bye to the round tables and hello to long banqueting tables. Not only do they look stunning, they are more sociable and make the often dreaded table plan much easier. You no longer need to group guests into tables of up to 10 as banqueting tables can seat up to 5 times that amount.

Unique Wedding “Cakes”
Traditional wedding cakes are becoming less favourable and many people are thinking outside of the (cake) box, coming up with something more personal – from doughnut towers to pork pies, cheesecakes to real cheese wheels. After all, your wedding day is all about you and what better way to incorporate your favourite food into it?
