With 19 flexible function suites, Sopwell House can accommodate for conference and event bookings of all sizes. Whether you’re looking for private room hire near London for an important meeting for two or a cocktail reception for up to 700 people, we can cater for all your needs.

Located on the ground floor, the hotel’s main conference facilities all benefit from natural daylight, air-conditioning and open onto the picturesque terrace. From our largest suite, the St Alban which can accommodate up to 700, to a smaller but equally as impressive suite such as the Boardroom – we have a space to suit your requirements.

Our conference facilities on the ground floor have a dedicated entrance with reception desk, digital signage screens, a large foyer and two fully functional bars. All functions suites on the ground floor benefit from natural daylight and air conditioning, with most opening onto the picturesque terrace area – the perfect place for a break-out area during the fine weather.

Our meeting rooms on the first floor are suited to boardroom style meetings. They include a large LCD HD TV with all the connections needed.

Ground Floor Facilities

  • St Alban Suite

    Our largest function suite, the St Alban suite is a magnificent column-free ballroom that is a popular choice for conferences, awards ceremonies, product launches and exhibitions.

    Designed for flexibility, the St Alban Suite can be divided into smaller areas by a partition wall into seven different combinations.

    The room is equipped with a mood lighting system with seven different colours to choose from, stunning chandeliers with three different brightest settings, down-lighters and pin spot lighting and a powerful PA system for all your audio needs.

    The St Alban Suite can include the addition of a dance floor and stage to accommodate up to 280 people.

    The St Alban Suite has two sets of French doors which open onto the picturesque terrace area – an ideal location for a break-out area during the fine weather.

    Max 380 delegates theatre style.
    Max 700 delegates reception.

  • The Mountbatten

    Named after the former owner and a well-known British statesman Lord Mountbatten, the Mountbatten is a versatile suite that can be used for all types of meetings and dining events

    The Mountbatten has high ceilings, air conditioning and access to our terrace and landscaped gardens.

    Capacity:
    Max 100 delegates theatre style.
    Max 110 delegates reception.

  • Lady Patricia & Princess Alice

    These suites are perfect for boardroom style meetings or small conferences. They both benefit from natural lighting, air conditioning and access to our terrace and landscaped gardens.

    The dividing wall partition can be removed to combine both suites to create the Patricia / Alice which can accommodate a maximum of 50 delegate’s theatre style.

    Capacities
    Lady Patricia: Max 25 delegates theatre style. Max 30 delegates reception.
    Princess Alice: Max 25 delegates theatre style. Max 30 delegates reception.
    Patricia/Alice: Max 50 delegates theatre style. Max 60 delegates reception.

  • Princess Victoria & Prince Louis

    A good sized space, the Princess Victoria can accommodate up to 110 delegates theatre style while the adjacent Prince Louis is ideal for small informal meetings of up to 25 delegates theatre style. Combined to create the Victoria / Louis, both suites can cater to a maximum of 140 delegates, theatre-style and a dance floor works well in the Prince Louis section.

    Capacities:
    Princess Victoria: Max 110 delegates theatre style. Max 40 delegates boardroom. Max 110 delegates reception.
    Prince Louis: Max 25 delegates theatre style. Max 12 delegates boardroom. Max 30 delegates reception.
    Victoria/Louis: Max 140 delegates theatre style. Max 50 delegates boardroom. Max 160 delegates reception.

First Floor Facilities

  • The Boardroom

    The Boardroom is a popular choice for top level management meetings. The classic decor has been updated over time and is furnished using dark natural woods combined with soft fabrics in earth tones, creating a calm, relaxing but business-like ambience.

    There is excellent lighting with large windows, ceiling spotlights and large mirrors to reflect the light. The large solid oak table coupled with bucket chairs ensure long meetings are enjoyed in comfort. The adjoining break-out room works well for a separate area to enjoy breakfast or lunch.

    The Boardroom has 70” LCD HD TV with all the connections needed.

    Capacity: Max 14 delegates boardroom.

  • Edwina Ashley

    The Edwina Ashley includes an integrated media hub, air conditioning, natural daylight with three windows, room for coffee & refreshment stations, and a stunning 80” LCD HD TV with Freeview channels including all the connections needed.

    Capacity: Max 12 delegates boardroom.

  • Lady Pamela

    The Lady Pamela includes an integrated media hub, air conditioning, natural daylight with three windows, room for coffee & refreshment stations, and a stunning 80” LCD HD TV with Freeview channels including all the connections needed.

    Capacity: Max 30 delegates theatre style. Max 14 delegates boardroom. Max 20 delegates reception.

  • Lady Juliana & Richard Lee

    Our largest first floor meeting room, the Juliana / Lee includes an integrated media hub, air conditioning, natural daylight with three windows, room for coffee & refreshment stations, and a stunning 80” LCD HD TV with Freeview channels including all the connections needed.

    There is also a separate break-out area with a fridge stocked with refreshments, a coffee station, stylish bucket chairs and whiteboard wall to make notes – this is the perfect area to think and plan or to relax.

    The Lady Juliana and Richard Lee suites can also be divided up into two completely different rooms should you wish to only use one.

    Lady Julianna: Max 24 delegates theatre style. Max 10 delegates boardroom. Max 12 delegates reception.
    Richard Lee: Max 24 delegates theatre style. Max 10 delegates boardroom. Max 12 delegates reception.
